Itinerari moto e difficiltà tecniche - OVER2000RIDERS

Itineraries and technical difficulties

The itineraries proposed by OVER2000RIDERS take place on a great variety of routes and road surfaces, using routes that wind along ex-military rolling stock, farm roads and secondary dirt roads.

By their very nature they are poorly used routes, which lead to uncrowded places, sometimes retracing ancient communication routes and often the local inhabitants themselves do not know their exact location.

Many routes are difficult to trace, perhaps because they are disused and not signposted, while others are no longer passable due to deteriorating conditions and because they are subject to restrictions and access bans.

Generally, the main route, the widths of the carriageway and the slopes of the road surface can be easily tackled with modern multi-cylinder on-off-road vehicles and 4X4 off-road cars.

There are often more technical variations to the route, which sometimes present the typical difficulties of off-roading and which require consolidated technical skills such as: fords, steep climbs, challenging passages due to a reduction in track width and altitude, rough surfaces ranging from stony to muddy.

All itineraries have been cataloged based on difficulty with a simple scale from 1 to 3:

1. Easy: regular surface, road widths and slopes in the absence of obstacles that require driving the vehicle by hand or with the help of third parties, possibility of access even with a passenger. It is a route in which you can dedicate a lot of time to appreciating the landscape aspect.

2. Medium: often stony and/or muddy surface, passages with narrowing of the roadway, steeper climbs, surface subject to deterioration in adverse weather conditions. The route requires good command of the vehicle and driving training.

3. Challenging: stony and muddy surfaces, fords, challenging uphill and downhill stretches, requires often proceeding decisively to overcome obstacles and roadway narrowings, requires excellent mastery of the vehicle, consolidated experience in off-road driving and resistance to prolonged efforts at altitude . It is a route for expert pilots who want to combine the pleasure of travel with the technical difficulties of driving.

The degree of difficulty can vary for both motorbikes and cars on the same track.
